THE LOCAL AREA

and affordable.

ACTIVITIES
A city tour provides a good introduction to the area, and, depending on the season,

American football game. Boston has been home to many popular musicians, and students can
hear live music in clubs and cafes all over the city. For classical music and art lovers,
the Boston Symphony, the Boston Ballet, and the Museum of Fine Arts are close by. The
Museum of Science and the Computer Museum attract tourists from every corner of the world.
Other local highlights include Quincy Market, the Kennedy Library and Museum, Harvard
Square, Old North Church, and the New England Aquarium. Also accessible for day and
weekend trips are the cities of Concord, Massachusetts, Newport, Rhode Island, and
Montreal, Canada.
Boston has many wonderful neighborhoods including the Italian North End, and Brookline,
where President John F. Kennedy was born. Quincy Market, Back Bay Boston and Harvard
Square feature many night spots that attract the sizable student population.
Students have easy access to public events held at world class institutions including
Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), and Boston University.
Explore famous Old North Church, Beacon Hill, the John F. Kennedy Library, and a
full-scale replica of the Boston Tea Party ship. Take day trips to the seaside resorts of
Newport and Cape Cod or the magnificent White Mountains; New York City and Montreal,
Canada, are close enough for weekend trips. Attend performances by the renowned Boston
Symphony and Boston Ballet
