The school is located on the campus of Menlo College, a business specialty school located in the quiet suburb of Atherton on a beautiful 45-acre campus.

THE LOCAL AREA

The campus, 40 minutes by train from San Francisco, is situated on a spectacular peninsula bordered by the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific ocean. Enjoy campus living at its best, with two swimming pools, weight room, gym, auditorium, library, snack bar, dining hall, sports fields, and many activity facilities. Public transportation to San Francisco and surrounding areas is close by.

COURSE PROFILE

Core Course:

18 hours per week (Monday - Friday). The Core program focuses on teaching the basic skills necessary to communicate in English. The daily class schedule includes a grammar / writing class that emphasizes correct structure, and a conversation class that emphasizes oral
fluency.

Main Course:

24 hours per week (Monday - Friday). The Main Course builds on the Core program by adding one elective Focus class. Focus courses concentrate on reading, pronunciation, idioms and other areas of specific concern to learning English as a foreign language. The student can choose from a variety of Focus courses offered at their level. Beginning students take one Focus course that emphasizes reading comprehension at the lower levels. Students in the intermediate or advanced levels can choose College Study Skills, TOEFL preparation, TOEIC preparation, Idioms, English for Business, or Pronunciation.

Power Course:

30 hours per week (Monday - Friday) Designed for intermediate and advanced students only, the Power Course is the Core Course plus two Focus classes. The emphasis is on oral/aural fluency, academic writing, reading comprehension and college success. Students can choose Focus courses such as College Study Skills, TOEFL preparation, and Literature. This immersion program maximizes your language learning in the shortest possible period of time.
